Torrentio Down on Stremio? Alternatives + Complete Setup Guide (Torrent + Non-Torrent)

I’ve seen a lot of posts recently about Torrentio being down on Stremio, and people keep asking the same question: “What are the alternatives?”
Since most of the information is scattered across older threads, I decided to make a single step-by-step guide with working torrent + non-torrent solutions, and also how to wrap everything inside AIOStreams (so you don’t need to jump between addons).
This should help beginners who are frustrated right now.
🔹 Why Torrentio Is Popular
Huge index coverage (movies/TV)
Works with debrid services (TorBox, RealDebrid, Premiumize)
Cached torrents = instant playback
But when it’s down → no streams → people panic. The good news is: there are alternatives that can completely replace Torrentio.
🔹 Step 1: Install AIOStreams
Think of AIOStreams as a “wrapper addon” → it lets you combine multiple Stremio addons into one unified source.
So instead of manually searching in Mediafusion, Comit, TorBox, etc., AIOStreams will pull them all together.

🔹 Step 2: Add Torrent Addons
Here’s the list of torrent-based addons you can add inside AIOStreams:
Mediafusion → pulls in many public torrent sources (great coverage, decent speed).
Comit → similar to Mediafusion, adds extra torrent links from different trackers.
Stremthru Torz → torrent aggregator with good recent content indexing.
Jackettio → lets you connect to private trackers if you configure them (power users).
Peerflix → specialized torrent streaming backend. Helps in fallback cases.
TorrentsDB → public torrent DB scraper, good for older content.
TorBox Search → directly pulls cached torrents from your TorBox account (super fast, no waiting).
🔑 Why add all of them? → More redundancy = more links = fewer “no streams” moments.
🔹 Step 3: Add Non-Torrent Addons
If you don’t want to rely only on torrents, add these too:
Nuvio → non-torrent streaming addon with instant playback.
Webstreamr → scrapes direct streaming sites (no debrid needed).
ZMB → focuses on movies/series with direct non-torrent links.
These are great backups when torrents fail or if you don’t use a debrid service.
🔹 Step 4: Use a Debrid Service (Example: TorBox)
Debrid = service that fetches torrents on their servers and gives you direct high-speed streaming links. Benefits:
No need to seed or wait.
Works with cached torrents instantly.
Much safer (your IP isn’t in the swarm).
I personally use TorBox → super reliable + great caching.

🔹 Step 5: Configure AIOStreams with TorBox
- Open AIOStreams settings.
- Go to Debrid settings → select TorBox.
- Enter your TorBox API key (get it from your TorBox dashboard).
- Save settings.
Now, all torrent addons (Mediafusion, Comit, TorBox Search, etc.) will automatically use TorBox to fetch cached streams.
🔹 Step 6: Wrapping It All Together
Once everything is added:
Open a movie/TV show in Stremio.
Instead of “no streams” → you’ll see multiple sources from torrent addons + non-torrent addons.
Cached torrents via TorBox will play instantly in high quality.
Non-torrent addons (Nuvio, Webstreamr, ZMB) will give you fallback streams.

Torrentio going down is annoying, but you don’t need to wait – these alternatives cover everything.

current torrent sites you all are using?

I am only having some fighting success with 1377. Torrentgalaxy is currently under 'aggressive redirect' ad attack. thepiratebay is one of the top watched ones. I am trying to catch up on old shows. What torrent sites are you using that currently aren't under the 'aggressive redirect' ad attack.

ESG will probably not run dry, as its based on taxes money and pension funds that are hard to track.
But if nobody watches the propaganda on streaming sites, they probably still watch old torrents.
Im pretty sure torrents where of the hook as they werent a threat since streaming was so popular, but seeing as most people watch 10 years or older shows? They will want to eliminate those from existence- ergo kill torrent sites.
Top Comment: To do that they would need to first know about torrent sites. Keep them secret. Keep them safe. The smart move is to acquire older movies and shows either on the seas or dvd, and host them all locally through network storage and server. That way you don't need streaming sites or even internet to watch them.

I haven't pirated in a long ass time. 10+ years, when PirateBay/uTorrent were the best of the best.
Which ones do people use now? I'm looking for one that deals with games, specifically modern games like Hogwarts Legacy.
Would really appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction

Sad news - Genesis-movement.org to shut its Torrent Site

Not sure how many people here are familiar with the various fan sites and things but thought it would be good to put up a message about this.
Creator Simon Funnell made a statement on their facebook page explaning that on the 26th genesis-movement.org torrent site (the biggest archive of bootlegs and things that exists for Genesis) will be shutting its doors. If people want to grab anything, now would be that time it seems.
